授業計画
As humour, as well as speech, is a property of humans separating us from animals, this course will try to analyse the various elements which constitute humour.
We shall examine linguistically: Slips of the tongue, metathesis and spoonerisms, malapropisms, riddles, homophones and puns.
As some humour is language-specific, various "national" humours will be studied, including English, Japanese, French, German etc.
General theories of humour such as the relief theory, the superiority theory and the incongruity theory will be discussed.
