This course is designed as an entry into the world of William Shakespeare. The students will be equipped with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to understand and enjoy a Shakespearean play. By reading Romeo and Juliet, we will explore the world of Shakespearean drama and consider the reasons why this play, written more than 400 years ago, still captures the imagination of readers and audiences in the twenty-first century.
