The Lost Generation produced some of the greatest twentieth-century American writers. They shaped contemporary American culture and left a deep imprint upon the later generations. We will read two of the best works from this period and learn how each writer reflects the transitions in the American imagination.
授業概要
Lectures on the theme of the course will be given at the beginning of class. Each student will read the work before the lecture and give a presentation on certain questions on the work. Class discussions will follow. A reading test will be given at the start of studying each work to check on how well you have read it. The final exam will be an essay exam.

Research on the criticism and information on the work before giving your presentation. Take good notes. Participate actively in the discussions. Read the English text carefully. The class will be conducted in English as much as possible.
評価方法
Evaluation will be based on the essay exam, presentation, active class discussion and reading tests.
